"The Awakening" is a short drama directed by D. W. Griffith. This film illustrates the work of Arthur V. Johnson and Billy Bitzer, stars of Silent Hall of Fame.

A man reluctantly marries a woman only to get his inheritance. The film is notable for the fact that it is the first of only few attempts by Mary Pickford to write a screenplay.
